Here, in this category, each post will be a suggested random act of kindness or gratitude. I have been hearing a lot about random acts of kindness, and paying forward gratitude lately, and feel compelled to share some ideas with all of you.
Also, if you notice on the menu side of the blog, I have been awarded the Kind Blogger badge! I was pretty excited to get it and want to make sure that this blog continues to encourage us all to be a little kinder each day.
So, since I’m already on the subject of blogging, the first Random Act will be to find new blogs, read what the writer has to share, and post a positive comment. Here are some more details and thoughts:
Random Act of Kindness and Gratitude #1 – Post encouraging and positive comments on new blogs
I particularly think this is a nice idea because I know how grateful I am whenever I get a comment on my blogs, especially from someone that I don’t know at all. It is such a wonderful feeling to know that you are reaching others with your words.
Find at least two blogs written by people that you don’t know personally, and that you have never commented on before and leave some encouraging words. Hopefully those people will then be inspired to seek out some new blogs, too, and leave some comments of their own! (I try to find two new blogs to leave comments on each time that I sit down to work on my own blog…and even though that may not be as often as I would like it to be, I have reached out to several new blogs in a short amount of time. Here on WordPress, the Tag Surfer has helped me find so many new interesting blogs.)

Well, there are just a few days before it is officially back to school. I will be going back both as a teacher and a student this fall…and this is the first fall that I have ever done so! When I went back to school for teaching, I went full time and did not work. Then, when I started working, I didn’t take any classes for the first year and didn’t take any the second year until the spring semester. Wow! I am feeling the excitement and anxiousness from both sides of classroom this fall! (I do have my first day of school outfits – one for teaching and one for graduate school – already picked out just like I did when I was a little girl!)
I am particularly excited to begin teaching in a new district this year and can’t wait to meet my students (as well as all of my new colleagues)! I am also pretty happy to know that I am (finally!) on the last phase of my MA and having the end in site is a great motivating factor. It has been a long and challenging process for me to work on this degree, so it will be especially rewarding when it is complete.
I will use this new category to post education related thoughts and updates on all of my new adventures. (Also, there may be some duplicate posts here from things happening over at my classroom blog, www.missmorrisblog.wordpress.com. Teachers especially may want to check that out after the first few weeks of school and see what we are up to over there.)
I hope that all of the teachers who read this blog will add some of their own educational insight and wisdom to these posts as well.
Happy learning!
